Frequently asked questions
Before you request a quote
What is worth knowing before you send your technical drawing.
Could not find the answer? Talk to us on WhatsApp or send your request through the form.
Is there a minimum order quantity?
No. GIG Solutions has no minimum order quantity or value. We manufacture from prototypes and one-off parts to small, medium and large batches.
What weighs most on the price of a machined part?
Machining time and the tolerance required. A part that occupies the machine for longer, or has tighter tolerances, costs more.
How soon will I receive the quote?
Within 48 hours of receiving your request with the technical drawing and the part requirements.
How long does manufacturing take?
It depends on the part. Lead times are set according to the complexity of the parts, the quantities, the availability of raw material and production capacity, and the delivery time is confirmed after the technical review of each request. GIG Solutions has 24-hour production capacity.
Do you accept urgent orders?
Yes. We accept urgent orders, subject to technical review, the availability of machines and materials and the complexity of the parts. The lead time is set case by case, after reviewing the project. Urgent orders may carry an additional cost, communicated in advance and approved by the customer.
Which files can I send?
PDF, STEP, STP, DXF, DWG and ZIP, up to 15 MB. Files are handled confidentially and GIG accepts non-disclosure agreements (NDA).
Which materials do you machine? Do you work with titanium?
Yes, we work with titanium. We also machine aluminium (alloys 6082, 5083 and 7075), steel, from mild steel to hardened steel, stainless steel (304 and 316L), brass, bronze and engineering plastics (POM, PE500 and PE1000).
What is the largest part you can machine?
In milling, the largest machining centre has travels of 1016 × 610 × 660 mm (X × Y × Z). In turning, the maximum diameter is 400 mm, with up to 700 mm between centres, and we turn from 3 mm in diameter.
Do you offer finishing and treatments?
Yes. Anodising, zinc plating and heat treatment, carried out by trusted partners.
Is GIG Solutions ISO 9001 certified?
Not yet. The Quality Management System is being implemented and certification is expected in early 2027, after the move to new premises.
What happens if a part does not conform?
We review the situation as quickly as possible. Whenever it is confirmed that the non-conformity is the responsibility of GIG Solutions, we correct or replace the parts at no additional cost to the customer. Complaints are reviewed individually, taking into account the agreed technical requirements, the supply conditions and the applicable legislation.
Do you deliver? Which countries do you supply?
We deliver ourselves within a 100 km radius of Salvaterra de Magos. We already supply customers in Portugal, France and Germany.
Do you accept requests from private individuals and small repairs?
Our main work is manufacturing to technical drawings for companies. Requests from private individuals and small repairs are not our focus, but they can be fitted in depending on workload.
Have a technical drawing?
Send the file and the part requirements. We reply with a quote within 48 hours.
The files and technical information you send are handled confidentially and used solely to assess the quote request.
